Happy Memorial Day: Giving Thanks to Those Who Gave the Ultimate Sacrifice For Us
Words cannot describe the appreciation I feel to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coastguardsmen, who serve, or have served our country. Most of these men and women go overseas, do what their told, don’t complain, and put their life on the line, for the average American citizen… Everyday! Some of those men and women came home and a flag draped coffin, some never came home at all.
I’m pretty lucky, my Dad always taught me to always appreciate those who serve in our military. Like many Americans, I come from a long-line of military men and women. So first off, I wanted to thank a few people from my own family, going all the way back to the Revolutionary War that served:
My sisters Jessica & Bonnie, brother-in-law Keith, brother-in-law Cody, Cousin Rich, Cousin Glenn, brother-in-law Jason, Grandpa Don, Great Uncle Bernie, my Great-Great-Great Uncle John C. Hunt, Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather Christian Mueller. I’m sure there were more, so I definitely have more to study about my genealogy.
To some kid who was scared, tired, homesick, cold, you are why we celebrate Memorial Day. There were some young men that were just starting out in life, they never had a chance in life, yet they gave their life for our country… I don’t even think their are words to convey my thanks.
Heroes is what you are! And we all never forget you. Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
